Here's a preview of the design I will be working on next week, as a large sashiko panel. I'm planning to use various shades of cream and white sashiko thread, in medium and fine thicknesses, plus hand-dyed, shaded and naturally dyed threads, on natural indigo fabric. The image of the Bodhisattva Kannon (Guan Yin in Chinese) riding on a giant carp is one I've adapted from several different images, with the koi carp coming from the same source as the koi scroll hanging in "Japanese Sashiko Inspirations" - much larger this time!
