We went to see Fairport Convention in Kinross last night - Backstage at the Green Hotel, the first time either of us had been there and it turned out to be a great venue for a gig. We were right in front of the stage and the venue had a really intimate atmosphere, perfect for Fairport. This is the seventh (or eighth? not sure) time I've seen them and they were on great form. I got a few passable photos, without flash.
Fairport have recently released an album of favourite tracks, 'By Popular Request', in new recordings, including Sandy Denny's song Fotheringay - there's a youtube clip from earlier in this winter's tour here (not great sound quality though - better off buying the album). It's now on the car stereo. Here's another clip - ' Matty Groves'
Remaining dates on the tour are here.
