Jan's projects from 'Japanese Taupe Quilt Blocks'
Jan Simmons, a fellow BQL group member, posted photos in our group showing a lovely bag and table runner (with matching place mats) she had made from my book, which she said she got as a Christmas present - she's been very busy then! She sent me some higher resolution photos to post here, so thank you Jan.
The back of the bag has a more elaborate block than the one I used (I figured mine wouldn't be seen in the book photos, so I saved the more complex applique blocks so I can make quilts from them).
Love the sampler effect of the table runner and place mats.
Turns out Jan hadn't just made all the blocks for the items above, she had also made a wallhanging which she described as a 'practice piece'! She writes 'The thing I like best about winter is that I don't feel obliged to go out and can stay in and sew! I found your book so inspiring that I just had to crack on with these.' Thanks very much - I also found the blocks quite addictive when I was making them (especially some of the appliques!)
