I stitched the blocks from the 'Retro Revival' chapter into a little sampler quilt top for the quilt tacking/basting photo in the book's techniques section. Yesterday I added the border (three Jelly Roll Strips), tacked it and started on some of the quilting today. I thought about machine quilting it but had a piece of Hobb's Polydown wadding/batting that was just the right size, so I used that and am hand quilting it. With the half inch borders, the blocks are 6in square. The ones in the centre column are bonded applique - all the others are machine sewn patchwork. Fabrics are from the 'Twiggy' range by Moda.
This will be on display on Sunday, at Quiltfest's Trading Day - just don't expect it to be finished! :-)
