The instructions will be in Popular Patchwork magazine shortly - I think in the issue published in mid June.
I machine quilted it. The original idea was to have a "simple" machine quilted grid, but I had to add a bit more, hence the curves. After sewing in all the ends, even using the quicker method of pulling the ends through with another loop of thread, I'm convinced it wouldn't have taken a lot longer to hand quilt it!
I'm planning a series of scrap quilts, all with striped borders, but I might hand quilt the next one.
