Judy's sashiko cushion

At Chester Ps & Qs last Wednesday evening, the theme was "Quilts Showcase". Quite a few members brought some of their quilts and other smaller projects. Judy Wilson (recently the Region 13 Quilters' Guild Rep) brought this sashiko cushion she started at my first ever "Introduction to Shonai Sashiko" workshop (2001?).

The overlapping squares arrangement shows off the hitomezashi (one stitch sashiko) very well. The top right corner has maple leaves in outline.

Thanks to Sue Horder of Chester Ps & Qs for the photo.
