What's your favourite quilt block?

Planning something new with one of my editors and we would like to know -

"What's your favourite quilt block?"

You can have more than one! Pass the word on and we'll see what kind of responses we get. You can either leave a reply via a comment or e mail me via the contact details on my website (link at top right).

I don't tend to use block patterns these days but when I did the ones I used most was 'square within square' and 'wacky star' (liberated variant of 'lucky star'). Besides teaching this as a workshop, our wedding quilt was a group 'wacky star' quilt which is so joyful.
My favourite (provided I don't have to construct it myself) is probably 'storm at sea' - I love the illusion of wavy lines.

I like Evening Star mostly because I do a lot of drawings/cartoons that include quilts and quilted clothing and it's so easy to draw!

My favorite blocks a log cabin and a sqaure in a square.

My favourite block is whirlyging block from Eleanor Burns just now. It's easy to make, and lovely to see.
We made a new baby quilt in our church with this technique. It was a great event for us and was a good experience for me to teach. Have a nice and creative day! Györgyi
