Quiltfest on TV - Wedi 7
Quiltfest has been featured on the Welsh programme Wedi 7 (Wedi Saith) on February 1st - here is the link (hope it works! - EDIT - sorry, it looks like it will only work if you are in the UK) showing DeAnne Hartwell Jones who is headlining the Made in Wales section of the exhibition, which includes my Fish and Chips quilt (shown in the background to the interview with Llinos Roberts and Mary Mars Lloyd). It's in Welsh, but you can enjoy the quilts even if you don't siarad neu ddeall Cymraeg (speak or understand Welsh). There are some excellent close up of DeAnne's work - like my Japanese quilting friends, she does all her piecing and quilting by hand. Go to approx. 11 minutes into the clip. It will be available to watch for a week. For people who can't use the link (from outside the UK), here are some stills which will give you an impression of the exhibition and DeAnne's beautiful work.
I thought the gallery at the Royal International Pavilion was being overhauled as part of the building alterations, but it looks exactly the same in this clip, which shows both the far left hand corner as you enter the gallery and the corner diagonall opposite, so it can't have changed much. Carpet and wall panels are still the same too.

Most enjoyable link - and awe-inspiring quilts. If you click on the 'owl' button get English subtitles
hadn't tried the subtitles button because someone said it wasn't working! Just watched it again with.
Looking forward to seeing DeAnne's work again - the pieces she had at Festival of Quilts last year were lovely.
How strange things occur sometimes...in the February issue of Goos Housekeeping there is a quilt. page 127, that caught my eye and now I find the same design in your post today - the concentric hexagons. I'm sure that's not what it's called but I would love to give it a try. Thank you.
February is already rushing away with me - I must put a date in the diary quickly!!!!
Is the link only available in the UK? I'm in the US, and keep getting a "stream not available" message.
Hi, sorry, it looks like the programme link only works in the UK.
The photos should give a flavour of DeAnne's work. She came to the Museum gallery today and I'll be going to the Pavilion to see her work next week, so I'll try to post some more photos. We had a good long chat about quilting (in English - my Welsh is really bad!)
