Japanese Quilt Inspirations has arrived
Although the official publication date is May 26th, my new book - "Japanese Quilt Inspirations" - has arrived and I can sell it in advance of the end of May! I will still keep the official launch for Malvern, where one of the quilts, in gorgeous kimono silks, longarm quilted by Ferret, is entered in the competition. But I will have copies for sale at the Wealden Quilt Show, Crowborough, on 29th & 30th April (check my diary blog for more info about this show) and for the groups I visit next week. And I can take mail orders too - as usual, payment is by cheque and p & p will be £3.50. The book costs £15.99, in paperback.
Here are some tasters - my reference photos though, not the beautifully styled photography that's in the book! As well as the ten different quilt patterns, many made up twice in different fabrics, there are four smaller projects, perfect for leftover blocks or to try out techniques.
Two of the quilts give ideas on how to incorporate those large size Japanese panels seen in many quilt shops. Work in progress on the alternative colourway of the Furoshiki quilt (below top) and Hanui at the Great Northern Quilt Show (second below).
Irori, one of my most popular patterns, got a makeover for this book.
