Yesterday and today - sashiko and fabric feasts

Yesterday we had a one day sashiko workshop, making sashiko furoshiki designs. Some of these were made as furoshiki, some as table runners and some as cushion panels.

Several of the quilters attending the residential course, which starts this evening, also came for the one day workshop yesterday, so this morning some of us went to Scarborough Sewing Centre for some fabric shopping.

As you can see, we all found some goodies! :-) The shop is packed full of lovely fabrics, including Bali Batik Pops and a good selection of two tone cottons suitable for sashiko. It's the first time I've been there, although I've bought fabrics from them at the Great North Quilt Show many times. Well worth a visit.
