Forthcoming workshops at Purely Patchwork, Linlithgo

I'll be in Scotland at the end of May/beginning of June, teaching several groups north of Perth - I hope the weather will be good, as I'll be driving through some spectacular scenery. I always love going up to Scotland, even in the winter :-).

On the first weekend in June, I'm teaching two workshops at Purely Patchwork in Linlithgow - the very popular 'Japanese Circles and Squares' and the brand new 'Sashiko for Summer'. You can see photos of lots of earlier JCAS workshops by searching this blog, plus quite a few finished quilts. 'Sashiko for Summer' is brand new, so no photos yet. Quilters make four 9in sashiko blocks, learning how to mark and stitch a corner fan (floral style), raimon (square spiral), fundou (scale weights - looks like Applecore patchwork) and a traditional circular family crest (I have selected a lovely Chinese bellflower roundel for this, as it is a summer motif) - learn three different ways to mark a panel for sashiko. The blocks can be used as cushion centres or used for quilts, bags - whatever you like.

I will be visiting Edinburgh (from Hertfordshire) for a fortnight, late May/early June, so I rang Purely Patchwork and booked the last place on the Sashiko workshop on 4 June - lucky me!

Hi Margery - that's worked out well for you! I sometimes wonder if posting about quilt shop workshops here on the blog actually helps anyone get booked - now I know it does. Look forward to seeing you there.
