World Textile Day at Llanidloes

Here are some of Bob's photos from World Textile Day on Saturday.  After a quiet morning, the event got really busy in the afternoon.

Welsh Heritage Quilters did the refreshments - that was busy too.

Jim and Magie with one of the 'show and tell' pieces.  At the end of the short talks in the afternoon, this was a new idea.  Wish I could have seen everything but that was when things got hectic on the sales.

We had two new traders this year - Simon selling Nepalese pashminas and Nataliya with Ukranian textiles, carvings and painted eggs.

Di looked amazing wearing a wedding outfit for her talk about batik.

We had a surprise visitor in the afternoon. At the end of the 1980s, I used to sell hand knits and tie dyes at craft shows in west Wales and Ann-Marie used to do wirework jewelry.  We did a lot of shows together but I haven't seen her since 1991!  Really nice to meet up again and we will have to have a holiday in mid Wales sometime so we can have a proper catch up.

We won't be at World Textile Day in Llandiloes next year, because the weekend clashes with one of my City & Guilds P & Q diploma weekends and, as it is almost the end of the course, I really don't want to miss it, but I plan to return in future.
